Description
The Hotel game is a strategic board game in which participants compete to run a chain of hotels. On a turn, a player receives two actions: buy a hotel, upgrade a hotel or build a new one. There are several cities to choose from and different hotels to build, each of which can become a luxurious 5 star establishment given the proper attention and cash.
The game uses many economic mechanisms. Money is gained from guests and revenues from other hotels. Lower priced hotels generate more guests and therefore more income, but they may also risk losing money if they don’t improve the quality of their facilities. The Hotels board game also uses market dynamics, with certain cities becoming more desirable than others. Different neighborhoods have different demands, so players have to adjust their strategies and wait for the right opportunity to improve their business. More wealthy players can also manipulate the market, by investing in certain cities, forcing prices to go up or down.
