Melty Blood Type Lumina is an action-adventure game developed and published by Type-Moon. It is the fourth installment in the Melty Blood series, following the original Melty Blood, Melty Blood Re-Act, and Melty Blood Actress Again. The game takes place in a fictional universe set in the future, where a mysterious group called the “Type-Moon” are trying to gain control of the magical power that is said to be capable of changing and influencing everything in the world. The player takes the role of a young man that is part of the organization, and must fight their way through various missions and levels in order to obtain the power.

Gameplay in Melty Blood Type Lumina consists primarily of engaging in tactical fighting against various enemies using the game’s various combos, special moves, and unique styles for each character. Combat is mostly performed on a 2D plane, but with the ability to move freely across a 3D environment. As players engage in battles, they can also earn and stockpile items to gain access to more powerful skills. The game also features a longer, narrative-driven quest mode, where players must go through specific parts of a larger story. These quest are composed of boss battles and scripted events that must be completed to advance the narrative.

Melty Blood Type Lumina also features a variety of game modes, such as Arcade, Local Versus, Network Versus, and a Story Mode. Players can customize their characters in the game and choose to play as any of the 12 characters in the game. MELTY BLOOD TYPE LUMINA is een 2D-vechtgame die werd ontwikkeld door French-Bread. Het werd voor het eerst uitgebracht voor arcade-machines in Japan in 2018. Het spel is gebaseerd op de Melty Blood-reeks van anime-games en gebruikt een nieuwe engine die ANMELTY genoemd wordt. In het spel kunnen spelers vechten met karakters uit de originele animatieserie en ook van andere spellen uit de Melty Blood-reeks. In aanvulling op normale vechtmoves, heeft Type Lumina een nieuwe mechanic genaamd Chain Shift, waarmee spelers hun aanvallen en combo's kunnen blokkeren of uitvoeren. Type Lumina biedt ook speciale 'Lympha Skills'-aanvallen waarmee spelers andere aanvallen kunnen ontwijken of hun vijanden enkel kunnen verzwakken. De game bevat ook een nieuwe Story Mode, waarin spelers missies kunnen voltooien met hun gekozen personage.
